The integration of the Follo Line in Norway’s busiest railway station, Oslo Central Station, is something more than ordinary railway infrastructure engineering, as it may directly affect and disturb a busy railway hub. Engineering and construction need to be carried out in an extremely careful and coordinated manner to secure normal operation.

SNC-Lavalin is involved in the signal system engineering and the follow-up of engineering contractors in line with the Signal System Rules of the National Railway Administration.

SNC-Lavalin's activities include:

  • Engineering of the Follo Line signal entries.
  • Data verification and inspection of the existing signal system at Oslo Central Station.
  • Consultations with the Oslo Central Station Supervision.
  • Engineering and construction follow-up in accordance with the Signal System Rules.
It is critically important that the integration of new infrastructure is based on a profound knowledge of the present infrastructure and its signal system.

Through a close follow-up of the present and future signal system, SNC-Lavalin significantly contributes to a good project development which also secures the normal operation at Oslo Central Station.
