The SNC-Lavalin Rail & Transit team has been shortlisted in multiple categories at the upcoming UK Rail Industry Awards (UKRIA) 2017.
Products developed by the company’s Software Solutions team have been shortlisted in the ‘Mobile Technology’, ‘Signalling and Telecommunications’ and ‘Product and Service Innovation’ categories.
SNC-Lavalin’s Audit Companion app has been nominated for the ‘Mobile Technology’ award. The innovative mobile and web-based solution could revolutionise how future audits are managed and conducted.
The company’s Signal Sighting Form Tool (SSiFT v3) is up for the ‘Signalling and Telecommunications’ award. SSiFT v3 was developed for Network Rail to streamline signal and sign sighting, resulting in significant time and cost savings.
Network Rail also entered SSiFT v3 in the ‘Product and Service Innovation’ and ‘Mobile Technology’ categories. The authority stated that: “The tool has been integral to the signal sighting process and will be mandated by the industry under a new standard, planned for 2017.”
SNC-Lavalin has a history of success at the UKRIA. At the 2015 awards, Interfleet (now SNC-Lavalin Rail & Transit) took home the ‘Environmental and Sustainability’ trophy for Energyx, the company’s energy metering application.
The winners of the 2017 awards will be announced on 9th February at Battersea Evolution in London. Sir Peter Hendy has been confirmed as a keynote speaker for the evening.
