4th April 2016
Representatives from SNC-Lavalin Rail & Transit will be presenting at the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) 2016 Rail Conference. The event is taking place at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Phoenix, AZ, from 19th - 22nd June.
The APTA Rail Conference is a key date in the industry calendar. It brings together more than 2000 senior figures from across North America and spans all rail modes; urban, commuter, high-speed and intercity.
This year’s exhibition will feature sessions on technology, operations, maintenance, safety and security, planning, finance, capital projects, workforce development, and more. It will also be the first official industry-wide outing for the US Rail & Transit team, since the company rebranded from Interfleet to SNC-Lavalin at the beginning of the year.
Paul Jamieson, Principal Consultant at SNC-Lavalin Rail & Transit, will be presenting an “Electronically Controlled Pneumatic brake (ECP) Standard Development and Testing Update” during the Rolling Stock: Mechanicals, Commuter Rail Brakes and Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs) session.
Principal Consultants John Smatlak and John Swanson will also be returning with a co-authored session on the “State of the Art in Light Rail Transit (LRT) Crashworthiness Standards”. Last year the pair gave a joint presentation at the 13th National Light Rail & Streetcar Conference.
