Emma Taylor from the Rolling Stock Enhancements team at SNC-Lavalin Rail & Transit UK has been shortlisted for ‘Young Rail Professional of the Year’ at the forthcoming Young Rail Professionals (YRP) Annual Dinner 2016.
The award is designed to celebrate rising talent within the industry. Each nominee is judged on their commitment to the rail industry, leadership, teamwork, achievement and inspiration to others.
Following a record number of nominations, Emma was one of only eight finalists to make the shortlist. The judging panel was impressed by the group’s ambition and enthusiasm for their careers.
Emma joined the graduate development scheme in 2013, after completing two summer placements with Interfleet (now SNC-Lavalin Rail & Transit). In her current role as an Engineer, Emma successfully bids for work and manages assignments for clients.
During her time with the business, Emma has led SNC-Lavalin to victory as part of the 2015 Times Graduate Challenge winning team. She was also a member of the group that achieved runner up status at the 2014 IMechE Railway Challenge.
The winner of ‘Young Rail Professional of the Year’ 2016 will be announced at the YRP Annual Dinner on Friday 8th April at the National Railway Museum in York.
