SNC-Lavalin has announced two appointments within its Rail & Transit team (formerly Interfleet). The latest announcements come from the recently rebranded company’s Infrastructure product area.
Deputy Director, James Howles, has been promoted to UK Director, Infrastructure. He takes over from Iain Court, who assumed the role of Business Development Director earlier this year.
The changes follow the company rebranding in January. The former Interfleet business was acquired by SNC-Lavalin in 2011, and adopted the name of its Canadian parent in 2016.
James joined the former Interfleet business in 2012, and has been instrumental in developing the company’s Infrastructure offering. Previously, James held senior technical delivery positions at AMEC, White Young Green and AECOM, where he worked on a range of multi-million pound projects.
Following his promotion, James made a new addition to the Infrastructure team. Principal Consultant Steve North joins SNC-Lavalin from GE Power Conversion, where he was Senior Project Manager.
Steve has over 15 years’ experience in managing manufacturing, construction and service projects. These include high risk infrastructure and defence projects for the UK government. In his new role reporting to James, Steve will support SNC-Lavalin’s Major Projects offering.
“As a business, our heritage lies in Rolling Stock, but over time we have laid the foundations of a strong Infrastructure department,” says Michael Grace, Regional Director, Rail & Transit UK. “Under James’s leadership, the team is cemented as a force to be reckoned with. We’re also delighted to welcome Steve to the company. He joins us at a busy time, and his expertise will prove invaluable in supporting key UK projects.”
