Interfleet, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group since 2011, has announced it will fully integrate into SNC-Lavalin by January 1st 2016.
This integration will consist of aligning the business processes, the brands and the market strategy to offer a larger portfolio of rail and transit expertise and provide an end-to-end client offering.
‘‘Interfleet has been a fantastic addition to the SNC-Lavalin team. By integrating, we will align our practices, complementary services and shared knowledge to better serve our global rail and transit clients at a time when high-value infrastructure engineering services are in high demand,’’ said Marc Rivard, Executive Vice-President, Infrastructure Engineering, SNC-Lavalin.
“SNC-Lavalin will be providing comprehensive services in rail and transit, and Interfleet will form the engineering cornerstone within this global SNC-Lavalin business,” said Richard George, Managing Director, Interfleet Group. “This is an exciting development that will unite outstanding rail expertise across the SNC-Lavalin business globally and bring it together as an integrated rail and transit market sector, offering well over 1,000 rail engineers across the world as well as significant transit operations in Canada where it is the market leader.”
Senior managers and employees from Interfleet and SNC-Lavalin attended the event in Derby to celebrate the opening of the new offices, which are now the European Centre for SNC-Lavalin, housing all support functions, including Finance and HR, for the wider business and will be the centre for rail and transit engineering expertise.
During 2015 Interfleet has taken on an additional floor in the Devonshire Square offices in London and additional space in the Aachen office in Germany, while the Sweden team moved to a new head office in Stockholm.
“With the adoption of the SNC-Lavalin brand and the European focus of our support functions in this office, Derby will truly become a global centre for rail and transit engineering,” said Michael Grace, UK Regional Director, Interfleet. “It’s an exciting time for rail in the UK and we’re delighted to see the continued expansion of Interfleet in the UK and celebrate the opening of our new offices in Derby. This demonstrates the growth and strength of Interfleet and the continued investment seen in UK rail.”
From January 1st 2016, Interfleet will change its name to SNC-Lavalin and fully integrate into the SNC-Lavalin brand.
