Interfleet, SNC-Lavalin’s international rail consultancy, has announced a recent appointment within its newly re-structured Engineering Vehicle Certification team. Steve Tidmarsh joined the growing department as Principal Engineer.
Steve has over 28 years’ experience in the rail sector. He came to Interfleet from Ricardo Rail (formerly Lloyds Register Rail), where he worked on the assurance of freight vehicles. Previously, Steve was responsible for the Rail Vehicle Conformance team at Network Rail.
UK Regional Director, Michael Grace, comments: “Steve boasts a wealth of freight vehicle experience and will work closely with our new On-Track Machine Assurance team. Our latest recruits are joining us at an exciting time, as the business gears up for growth.”
Interfleet’s re-modelled Engineering Vehicle Certification team combines the company’s existing On-track Plant experts with a new section dedicated to On-Track Machine Assurance.
The wider team continues to be managed by Team Leader Alex McCristal, with John Ovenden assuming responsibility for four On-Track Machine Assurance specialists, in his latest role as Section Head.
John joined Interfleet in 2006 from AEA Technology Rail, where he focused on rolling stock assurance, infrastructure projects and product development. John’s promotion follows his work in developing Interfleet’s On-Track Machine Assurance offering.
The new team structure will support the ever-increasing demand for Interfleet’s services, as the company evolves and expands. Interfleet recently announced that from 1st January 2016, it will change its name to SNC-Lavalin and fully integrate into its Canadian parent.
