3rd November 2015

The Interfleet South Africa team recently moved to a new office in Midrand, between Pretoria and Johannesburg. The area is popular with businesses, as it has good highway links and is located in the economic centre of Gauteng Province.

Interfleet will share their headquarters with Kentz Corp., an engineering and construction firm in the oil and gas sector.  Over 100 Kentz Corp. employees are already based at the site.

Interfleet and Kentz Corp. have the same parent company, and both businesses will be adopting the SNC-Lavalin name from 1st January 2016. Interfleet’s move is ideally timed, as it allows the teams to fully-integrate ahead of the re-brand.

Mike Gallie-James, Regional Director for Interfleet South Africa comments: “We opened our first office in South Africa in 2014, after working from the region for several years at client sites. Our new base is in a prime spot, and provides the space we need to expand.”

Interfleet South Africa’s latest addition joined the company on 1st November 2015. Malwande Mhlaba is an experienced Electrical Engineer, who previously worked with the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA), the Gautrain (Electrostar) and Vossloh.

In his new role, Malwande will support Interfleet’s work for PRASA. This will involve completing the final stages of design review, testing and commissioning for the new trains project.
