Interfleet opened its doors to a new office in Brisbane (Australia) in February 2015.
Interfleet now shares offices with SNC-Lavalin, Interfleet’s parent company, and Kentz Corporation. SNC-Lavalin acquired the global Kentz business in August 2014.
“We are delighted to unite all our operations across Australia to service the entire resources and infrastructure industry. Together we will be making a major contribution to onshore and offshore resources development and the transportation sector, both existing and new projects,” said Marius van Tonder, Senior Vice-President Mining & Metals, Australia, SNC-Lavalin.
This news follows the appointment of new Regional Director, Mark Hughes, who heads up a team of 70 employees across all Australasian offices.
“This is a great opportunity in continuing to build closer relations with our parent company, SNC-Lavalin and Kentz Corporation,” said Regional Director, Mark Hughes, “This allows for easier communication and synergies between the divisions and maximizes the outcome for clients where their requirements are across a variety of disciplines.”
Interfleet recently worked on the introduction of the Gold Coast Light Railway System that is a key element of the wider plan to address traffic congestion by providing a wholly integrated public transport network. Interfleet is also the Rolling Stock Lead Technical Advisor on the New Generation Electric Multiple Units being purchased by the Queensland State Government.
