Interfleet, SNC-Lavalin’s international rail consultancy, has been shortlisted in two categories at the UK Rail Industry Awards (UKRIA). Interfleet received the nominations for its Timetable Advisory System (TAS).

TAS is designed to operate on an Apple iPad or Android tablet within a train cab. It provides the driver with information about how the train is progressing relative to timetable. The revolutionary system has been shortlisted in the ‘Mobile Technology’ and ‘Environmental and Sustainability’ categories.

TAS is part of Interfleet’s integrated software offering to support operators. Other products include Rail Companion, Energyx and Diagnostics. These solutions have a history of success at the UKRIA. At the most recent awards, Interfleet took home the ‘Environmental and Sustainability’ trophy for Energyx, the company’s energy metering application.

Matt Davies, Interfleet’s Software Solutions Team Leader comments: “The team was delighted to be recognised at the previous event. We’ve already received some brilliant client feedback for TAS, so another award would be the icing on the cake!”

UK Regional Director for Interfleet, Michael Grace adds: “It’s fantastic to see our Software Solutions team being celebrated for their innovative work. We’re very grateful for the nomination and look forward to attending the awards next year, under our new name.”

Earlier this year, Interfleet announced that from 1st January 2016, it will be changing its name to SNC-Lavalin and fully integrating into its Canadian parent. The UKRIA ceremony is taking place on 11th February 2016, by which time Interfleet will have re-branded.
