International rail consultancy, Interfleet, has won an award at the annual RFG (Rail Freight Group) Awards ceremony.

Interfleet won in the ‘Technical Development’ category for its work on its Timetable Advisory System, also known as TAS.

TAS is an app, designed to operate on a tablet in a driver’s cab, which provides the train driver with a range of information as to how the train they are operating is progressing relative to the timetable. If the train is running ahead of schedule, the driver can reduce the speed to save energy and if the train is behind schedule the driver can accelerate the train to minimise delays.

The app has been developed by Interfleet’s Software Solutions team, with support and guidance from Network Rail and freight operators.

This award gets external recognition for this product and further demonstrates Interfleet’s ongoing commitment to improving our client’s performance through investment and development in innovative and practical solutions.

These Rail Freight awards recognise and celebrate all those who have strived to deliver even greater successes in an increasingly demanding rail freight market.

The Awards Ceremony was at Shendish Manor in Hertfordshire on Tuesday 9th September, and Interfleet was a joint winner with Lloyds Register Rail and WH Davis Ltd for the Technical Development category. The RFG Awards are judged independently.
