Eight years.

Where did you study?
Nottingham University.

What course did you do?
Mechanical Engineering (Masters).

How have you progressed within the company?
I was on the graduate scheme for two years, then an engineer for three years. After achieving Chartership, I was a Senior Engineer for three years. I am currently Section Head within the Vehicle Structures team.

How did the graduate scheme help in getting you to your current position?
The scheme was invaluable in choosing a team to work in. It also provided a strong grounding in the industry and an understanding of the function of the other teams within SNC-Lavalin Rail & Transit.

What’s been your most exciting opportunity yet?
Traveling to Italy, Denmark, Brazil, Malaysia, Australia, Japan and China! Also, leading people as a line manager and as an assignment manager on large projects.

What makes it a great place to work?
The people, mainly! It’s a very collaborative workplace, with plenty of positive social aspects.
